News, Views, and Debuts from Spring Quilt Market, 2014

As many of you know Market is a great place to see what’s new and trending in the quilting and fiber arts industry; especially new fabric, tools and notions – and of course, books. This Quilt Market we saw a big emphasis on fabrics that combined bright, fresh colors with patterns featuring organic shapes and free-form motifs. We also debuted several books from new authors and established favorites – including one sneak peek of a brand new upcoming book from Edyta Sitar.

Congratulations to Melanie Greseth and Joanie Holton for TailorMade by Design in the Contempo booth for winning the Best Booth Award for Creativity! Their first book with Landauer debuted at Market as well – Daily Zen Quilts & ProjectsTheir book features 11 projects using Michele D’Amore’s newest fabric collection, Daily Zen for Contempo Fabrics by Benartex – the full collection was revealed at this market!

In the Sew Kind of Wonderful Booth Jenny Pedigo and Helen Robinson were dedicated to their Quick Curve Ruler and the collection of beautiful patterns created with the ruler  – you can see the Sassy Stars Quilt on the far left, just one of the beautiful projects featured in their new book Contemporary Curved Quilts

Previewed at Quilt Market

Though the book won’t be available until August 2014, Quilt Market attendees who stopped by our booth got a special preview of the new children’s book by Edyta Sitar.

The book features a charming story and gorgeous illustrations by Sue Cornelison, who used fabrics from Edyta’s Jelly Bean collection to create the images. Full instructions, diagrams and appliqué templates will be included with the book so readers can construct the quilt featured in the story.

The book will be released later this year, join our email list to be the first to know when it’s available.
