One Wonderful Curve

The wait is over! After much anticipation, the gals from Sew Kind of Wonderful are back with a brand new book, One Wonderful Curve, showcasing even more quilts using their Quick Curve Ruler©.

Jenny and Helen (Sister 1 and Sister 2) added Sherilyn (Sister 3) to the mix for their second book. Believe me, this trio is just dynamic. The personality of each sister shines through their quilt projects as they mix and match their strengths to create some of the most beautiful quilts I’ve seen.

These quilts look complicated. They look scary and time-consuming and frustrating and they have curved piecing!! But the beauty of these quilts is that they only appear to be difficult. In reality, these quilts can be completed by anyone, from an advanced beginner to an experienced quilter. The Quick Curve Ruler© takes all the guess-work out of curved piecing. And detailed instructions and photographs walk you through each step of the process, from cutting to piecing and squaring up the blocks. But enough talking about the quilts, let’s see them!

Quilters, meet Contempo Twist. She’s a modern beauty featuring delicious, never-ending red twists. This quilt finishes at 60″x 60″, but can easily be made larger or smaller by adding or subtracting blocks. If you make it bigger, the ribbon twists just keep going!

Dragon Glass is my all-time favorite quilt. It may be because it’s made with Alison Glass fabrics, or because my apartment has a deep need for this quilt to be draped over my couch. Either way, I think many of you will also fall in love with this quilt. Remember, if this fabric isn’t your forte, just picture it with batiks or tonal fabric. Now, we’re talking!

Trying saying this name ten times fast: Gaggle Battle. This quilt uses the traditional Flying Geese block, but puts a twist to it by making the sides curved. Jenny used Denyse Schmidt’s Franklin fabric line to create a cheerful quilt.

Moroccan Vibe is a collaboration by all three sisters. Jenny chose the fabric, Sherilyn pieced the top and Helen quilted it. Speaking of quilting…let’s get a close-up of the gorgeous work from another quilt, Candy Blossoms.

One of the best features about One Wonderful Curve is the quilting gallery in the back of the book. The quilt designs for each quilt have been drawn out with thorough detail. So whether you do your own quilting or send it out, you can have an exact guide to putting the perfect finishing touch on your work of art.

Are you drooling yet? If any of these quilts caught your eye, snatch up a copy of the book! Don’t forget the necessary Quick Curve Ruler© to pair with the book!
